Tyranids, as a faction, are terrible. They are barely kept on life support with extremely dated and overcosted datasheets and their 4 expansion packs. They have a few LISTS however that are absolutely broken, due to old rules interactions and two datasheets that are ahead of the curve due to oversights.

Goonhammer is the only group that is predicting a big drop off for the army with these changes. Most people acknowledge that they took a hit but it doesn't really change the Army's ability to do heavy damage. The changes that we saw were necessary to keep the game healthy. Some non-interactivity is fine.

Custodes are probably the easiest entry into 40K from a competitive standpoint They just got nerfed down into B tier, but their advantages are they're incredibly easy to play, and have a very cheap low model count barrier of entry. Even buying everything retail its still a cheap army to get into, and painting them is so easy it's almost criminal.
